Andrew Harry Fedorkiw (April 27, 1929 - June 20, 2019)
Andrew was the fifth of six sons born to parents John and Anna (Storozuk) Fedorkiw of Sandy Lake.
The family farmed a half section of land located near Lake 8, a mile south of Dan Zatylnys’. Andrew attended Frazer School to grade 9, Sandy Lake High School for two years and St. Andrews College for grade 11 and 12 before apprenticing for motor repairs and working for Watson’s Electric in Winnipeg for 17 years. In 1970 he started working for CNR doing armature repairs for 20 years. He lived in the North and West Ends of Winnipeg, purchasing his first home in Elmwood in 1970. After retiring he lived in his St. Paul home until 2002 when he purchased a home in Erickson where he lived, until he moved to the Sandy Lake Personal Care Home on June 20, 2013.
Andrew was a quiet, gentle man who enjoyed sports as a youth especially softball and football and cribbage as an adult and watching sports on T.V.
He was predeceased by his parents John and Anna and brothers Mike, Walter, Ernie, Edward and Donald and sister Olga. He leaves to mourn the Fedorkiw family and nieces Lorna Kelly and Carol Cherematy in Burlington, Ontario and neighbour Carol Bergeson who helped him manage living at home as his mobility decreased as well as his church family.
