Glen was born in Shoal Lake on Dec 11, 1947 to Knox and Helen Shust. One of seven children, Glen was always part of a busy family life that largely revolved around Shust Farms. He eventually took over the farm from Knox in the early 70s, working the farm in the summer and trucking all over Canada and the United States in the winter.
Glen married Carol Macahon in 1979 and soon taught her to drive a semi and operate farm equipment. As their children grew, Glen took great pride in their achievements, but would be the last to admit they were largely due to the habits and work ethics learned from their father. After many years of hard work, Glen retired from trucking in 2014 and farming in 2016.
Glen’s favourite pastimes included fishing, reading his many favourite authors, visiting classic car museums and tinkering with his machinery & vehicles (especially the Charger). Although he jokingly referred to himself as ‘The ACME Engineer’, he could fix almost anything and his many ‘do-it-yourself’ projects enjoyed a high rate of success.
Glen was pre-deceased by his sisters Marilyn and Gay. He is survived by his wife Carol, his children Brendan and Nicole, his siblings Lavona, Clara, Michael and Valerie, as well as many nieces and nephews.
