Ronald (Ron) Garth Jones

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Ron G. Jones at the age of 64, on June 24, 2019.  He passed away doing what he loved best – riding his motorcycle. 

Ron was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on May 19, 1955 and grew up living in small northern communities throughout Manitoba.  He called The Pas home and resided there for most of his life. Ron worked at the town newspaper as a teenager and then became a correctional officer where he worked for 30 years.  He married the love of his life Val, on September 10, 1977 and had two children; Natalie and Nathan.

Along the way he made life long friends that he would keep in touch with over the years with lengthy phone calls.

Ron’s passion in his life other than his family was hunting, fishing and riding his motorcycle.

Leaving to mourn his loving wife Val Jones of 41 years; daughter Natalie Ingelbeen (Collin); son Nathan Jones (Brittany); and grandchildren Ryan, Haden and Peyton.  His mother Mavis Jones; sisters Brenda Wood (Ewen) and Patricia Hiatt (Ken); brothers Darryl Jones (Karen), Derek Jones (Kim) and sister in law Deanna. As well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.  He is preceded in death by his father Dudley Jones, brother Geoff Jones, grandparents and numerous aunties and uncles.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date in The Pas, Manitoba.
