Wilma McKerchar

Florence Wilma Louise McKerchar passed away at her residence in Brandon on Mother's day May 12, 2019 with family at her side.

Wilma was born in Arcola, Saskatchewan to William James Johnston and Florence Marie (Bird).  She taught in Egremont, Marney and 20 years at Strathclair covering a wide variety of grades.  Amongst her delights were: music (home and church), dancing (square and folk), gardening (always including a huge flower patch), sewing (all the kids clothes and incredible costumes), bread baking, grandkids and great-grandkids.

Wilma was predeceased by her parents William and Florence, and brother Wilson. Wilma is survived by her children: Allan (Dee) McKerchar of Fargo, N.D., Suzan (Gordie) Campbell of Quesnel, B.C., and Sandra (John) Connor of Thunder Bay, Ont.  Also, several grandchildren and great grandchildren: Allison (Deryk) Gamey , Keegan and Riley; Jason (Ashley) McKerchar, Carter and Logan, Warren (Tyler) Campbell, Katrina (Cam) Bowman, Ayla and Joel; Dayle Doggett, Tyler, Abigail and Eron; Ian Connor.

The funeral service to be held at Strathclair United Church on Thursday, May 16 with Eastern Star Prayer and internment at the Bend Cemetery.   Recognized Honorary Pallbearers were grandsons: Jason McKerchar, Warren Campbell and Ian Connor
