It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Andrea Joan Elizabeth Tokaryk (nee Danyluk) in Russell Hospital on Tuesday December 14, 2021, after a courageous battle with cancer. She will be deeply missed by her husband, Edward Tokaryk.
Born in Shoal Lake, she spent her childhood on the RCAF base in Gimli, before graduating high school in Winnipeg. Andrea completed her LPN before marrying Edward September 29th, 1979.
Living primarily in Winnipeg, Andy and Ed retired to Oakburn in 2013. Andy loved her dogs (Max, Toby, Brady) and cats (Festus and Kit). Her gardening and cooking skills will be missed by her whole family, as will her mushroom cleaning and drying skills - especially by her brother and nephews. Her talent for designing and creating Ukrainian Easter Eggs (Pysanky), cross stitch, and quilting will be remembered by all. Her cheery disposition, optimism, and generosity will be missed by all who knew her.
Andrea was pre-deceased by her parents Nicolas and Rose (nee Labay) Danyluk, parents-in-law John and Teenie (nee Chegus) Tokaryk, brother-in-law John Alexander, and nephew Kelvin Tokaryk.
Left to mourn are her sisters Donna Alexander and Rene (Paul) Stanway; brothers Darrel (Bonnie) Danyluk and Ted (Shelly) Danyluk; sister-in-law Diane (David) Pinuta; brother-in-law Eugene (Sylvia) Tokaryk; nieces Michelle Danyluk, Nicole Stanway, Stephanie (Spenser Fernando) Danyluk-Fernando, and Dena (Marc Cantin) Pinuta; and nephews Scott (Johanna) Stanway, Mark (Lindsay) Danyluk, Matthew Danyluk, Robert Danyluk, Darren (Stephanie) Tokaryk and Bryan Pinuta.
