Anne Twerdochlib Obituary

TWERDOCHLIB:   Anne went home to be with the Lord and with her parents on January 13, 2020, with her two sisters, Mary and Virginia,  by her side.  Anne was born in the Marco/Olha district on February 27, 1931, to parents Rose and Michael Twerdochlib.  She lived on the farm with her family and attended Marconi School until Grade 9 walking to and from school  two and half miles every morning and night to get her education.  She left school before graduating to help her family on the farm.   She worked in many and diverse jobs, from berry picking in her teen years,  administrative jobs to obtaining a welder's certificate, trying to find a a lifestyle that fitted her but as a "nature's child",  she eventually came back to the life on the farm which she truly loved, and lived there until moving into the Lion's Manor in Rossburn.   Anne was fearless, always a free spirit, quite frowned upon in her generation, but she owned her passion and stayed with it.  She loved her lifestyle,  being outdoors, her love of animals, domestic and wild,  her independence and she always remained true to herself.

Anne treasured and loved her family dearly.   She is survived by two sisters, Virginia Dzikowski and Mary Kaban, nephew Daren Dzikowski and niece Elan Alary (Richard), several great-nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends who truly loved her for her loyalty, compassion and generosity.

Anne's  funeral was held on January 16, 2020, at  Sacred Heart of Jesus Ukrainian Catholic Church in Rossburn, Manitoba, with Father Mykhaylo Khomitskyy officiating .  Interment followed at the Parish cemetery.    Many thanks to the wonderful staff at Shoal Lake- Strathclair Health Centre, Hamiota Health Centre and Brandon Regional Health Centre.  Anyone wishing to make a donation in Anne's name, please consider the Canadian Wildlife Federation, the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.
