Audrey Gerrard Obituary

It is with great sadness to announce the passing of our mother, grandmother & great grandmother, Audrey Mae Gerrard, on January 31st, 2024 at the age of 87 years.

Audrey was born on June 15,1936 to Nick & Bernice Warniski, sister to Allan & cousin to Bruce. The family grew up in the Glossip area, living on the Austin Gamey farm.

She married Clair Gerrard on July 7th,1956 and they raised their 4 children on the family farm, north of Ipswich. The farm was a busy lifestyle, but they took the time to enjoy an occasional weekend at their cabin at Thomas Lake.

Audrey was very involved with her children's 4-H activities. She would often be seen at the Auction Mart during the weekly sales or for special sales. She later enjoyed working at the Community Centre, especially socializing with her co-workers, the locals & coffee crew.

Audrey enjoyed her day trips to different casinos and to old time music shows.

She was an avid fan of the Brandon Wheat Kings and Toronto Blue Jays. She made certain to tune in to the radio and television whenever the opportunity arose to listen to or watch them play. Listening to old time music and watching curling were other favourites of Audrey's. She had her favourite players and kept up with their performances, especially curling and baseball players.

Sitting outside on her deck on a summer evening and having a visitor stop by was always a highlight for Mom.

Audrey is survived by her children - Kevin (Yvonne), Lynne, Blaine, Lisa & by her grandchildren - Derek (Sara), Sarah, Kristy (Ryan), Cory and her great grandchildren - Cohen, Greyson & Rhett.

Audrey is predeceased by her husband Clair, her parents & cousin Bruce.

Thank you to all the doctors, nurses and home care workers who gave the utmost of medical care to Mom.

A special thank you to Harold & Heather, Richard & Roslyn, Kevin & Belinda, Shannon, Cheryl & friends & neighbours. You were always there for Mom whenever she needed  you and we will be forever grateful to you all.
