Brian Leonard Lane

Brian Lane of Birtle, MB passed away on November 30th 2023 at the Russell hospital at the age of 76. Brian (Bronco), the second of five children was born to Len and Frances Lane on February 3rd, 1947 in Birtle MB.  

Brian received his education in Birtle and as a young man, he worked for W.E. Bicknell and Asselstine’s Autobody before moving to Thompson where he carried out the remainder of his working years as an Autobody Technician at Mystery Lake Autobody.   

While in Thompson, Brian met his partner Lorraine Desrochers. Brian and Lorraine remained in Thompson until their retirement upon which time they moved back to Birtle. Brian’s hobbies included fixing small motors and hunting and fishing with his buddies. He always took the time to have a little chat with whomever he ran into during his day.

Brian was predeceased by his common law partner Lorraine, his parents Len and Frances Lane, sister Bev Blyth and brother-in-law Garnet Wood. Brian is survived by his step son Ron (Dawn) and their son Eric, step son Maurice (Blare) and their children Eric, Dylan, Cale and Remi, his siblings; Morris Lane, Brenda Wood, Kathy (Brian) Bonchuk and brother in law Peter Blyth as well as numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
