On January 24th Carol decided to move on. She was born to Anne Koroscil (nee Wyrozub) and Mike Koroscil on July 22nd 1951 in Hamilton, Ontario. She represented Canada in the CanUSA games in the mid 60s in both badminton and gymnastics. After graduating she moved to the West Coast, preferring to ski and sail rather than go to the prom. She managed Crown Cabs of North Vancouver. She decided to build a 29ft offshore sailing sloop and move to Vancouver Island, that is where her life turned upside down. She met “the crew”, the Maluk boys, Mel Rystephanuk, Don and I. She worked as a hydrographic surveyor, perhaps the first female in Canada. She later started a marine upholstery and canvas company, she was a qualified sail maker. In Sept of 1977 she said if I was going to marry her, I better do it; so, I did. AJ was born on a floating home in Victoria Harbour in 1980. We had a Marine Surveying company for approximately 32 years before retiring to Sandy Lake in 2007. She opened The Barking Moose in the summer of 2010. We traveled around North America, Carol had visited 37 States and went to Europe. She spent approximately 6 weeks on safari in Southern Africa which she said was the time of her life. Her elder brother Paul died in Naramatta, BC in December of 2021. Missing her already are her brother Doug and sister Barbara, numerous friends, nieces and nephews and the pride of her life, her granddaughters Rhaya, Dazy and Stamp. AJ and I would like to thank everyone for the kindness shown to us and request her understanding while we get our act together.
