Clifford Nichols Obituary

Clifford Thomas Nichols, born August 14, 1942, passed away peacefully in his sleep October 29, 2024.  Clifford was born to Wallace and Rose Nichols of the Haywood MB district.  He grew up there with his nine brothers and sisters. He left to work on the gravel crushers in the northern Manitoba and then to Winnipeg at 19 and became a pipe fitter (fire protection-sprinklers).  Travelled north, east and west for his work from apprentice to journeyman.  He met his special wife Mary Brocklesby in 1961 and they married October 10, 1964 in Winnipeg.  Their children Kevin, born 1965, Tanya in 1967 and Dale in 1970.  They raised their family in St Vital while Cliff travelled here and there to work.  He coached hockey and football with his boys as time would allow and watched Tanya in her Girl Guides and dance events.  Always a true support to his children’s growth.

As a young boy he scouted the woods, finding something for their supper. A hunter at heart and found that buck in his 80th year.  Also, a Mr. Fix-it for his mom, brothers and sisters.  He wore out 2 pairs of work boots during the install of Sprinklers Systems of Portage Place, trained and worked with many young men and had no fears of heights in the mine work sites up North.  When he found the hills of Erickson’s surrounding area during his hunting adventures-- he found our Sundown Country Acreage, where his DEER friends came to visit him on the beautifully groomed grounds.  This place was his dream come true.  He made it “Our Special Place”. Then in 2017 cancer struck and he fought and won the battle, moved to Erickson and groomed the home of choice.  Always giving of himself to Mary and her needs and to the community.

Left to mourn; Loving wife Mary, daughter in law Cari, Daughter Tanya, Son Dale and daughter in law Shelly.  His precious grand babies: Kayla (Scott and Sawyer), Krystal, Tyson (Kayla and baby Tahlia), Morgan, Lainie and Josie.  Sisters and brothers: Eddy, Violet, Bernice, Mary Rose (Lionel), Jim (Barb), Dave and many nieces and nephews and close friends.  Predeceased by his son Kevin, mother Rose, father Wallace, mother-in-law Eva (brother-in-law Ross), Brothers Max and Rodney, and Sisters Carol (Ovide) and Joan.

Always missed and forever loved.
