It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of David Pinuta on November 15, 2025 at St. Boniface Hospital.
David was born February 10,1943 on the homestead in Elphinstone Manitoba, son of Dmytro and Rozalia Pinuta. He was one of eleven siblings. He attended Prince of Whales School and left to assist on the family farm.
David attended many community dances where he met his wife Diane. They married October 14, 1967 in Olha Manitoba. They had two children Bryan and Dena.
David worked at various jobs building roads, started his own land clearing business and later found his calling as a crane operator. He assisted his two uncles on the family farm. As time went on he proudly took over the farm, balancing both roles as a farmer and fulltime crane operator.
He was an avid fisherman from summer to winter, reeling in many master anglers. He enjoyed hunting deer, elk, moose and ducks. A teal duck was a must have come fall. He enjoyed gardening and his annual mushroom picking.
He had a love for travel and enjoyed warm sunny places over the years. He visited Cuba, the Dominican Republic, Hawaii, Panama, Mexico, Aruba, Caracas, Bahamas, CocoCay and ventured to Alaska.
He was a proud Gigi to four grandchildren. They all enjoyed his stories, truck rides to the store for candy and going out on the water in his boat. He also shared his love for Ukrainian music with them.
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus at St. Basils Ukrainian Catholic Church and a member of The Operating Engineers Local 987.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife Diane, son Bryan, daughter Dena (Marc), grandchildren Madelynn, Keira, Wade and Brody, along with many family and friends.
