Eunice Koroscil (1931-2022)
It is with deep sadness that our family announces the passing of our loving mother, grandmother and aunt. Eunice (née Perepeluk) was born five miles north of Sandy Lake on April 2, 1931. She was one of three children, along with four stepbrothers and sisters. She attended Coldwell school for her earlier education. In 1951, she married the love of her life, Paul Koroscil, and together they established their new life on the edge of Wolf Lake. In 1954, a new home was built at their farm located at SW 26-17-21 to shelter themselves and their four sons for years to come.
Our mother was a long-time member of the Holy Ghost Ukrainian Catholic Church, the same church where she and Paul took their wedding vows, where she attended Sunday mass regularly, and was fond of singing in the choir. Eunice also enjoyed her time as a Cantor within the local area, following in her father’s footsteps. Mother was always happiest when surrounded by her children and grandchildren. In 1976, Paul and Eunice built a new home in Sandy Lake for their retirement years, but Mother continued to help at the farm for many years to come. Living her life to the fullest, believing in her family, having a strong work ethic, and laying a path for the next generation to follow were her priorities. She was a special friend to many, was very loved, and devoted her whole life to the well-being of her family. Our Mother led a simple life. For her, simpler was better. She was highly noted for her Easter egg (pysanka) talents, incredible meal preparations, and bountiful garden. She was simply the best.
Eunice is survived by her children Glenn (Maureen), Perry (Cathy), Dale, Edwin (Liz), her grandchildren Michael, Ryan, Rachel and Leanne, and many nieces and nephews. Eunice was predeceased by her husband Paul, parents Petro and Pytryna, sisters Teenie and Elsie, stepbrothers Frank, Paul and Bill, and stepsister Irene. She will be greatly missed but her memory will remain forever in our hearts.
