George Isaak, age 91, of Shoal Lake, Manitoba, passed away at the Morley House transition unit on December 10th, 2022. He was known in the community as Pastor George, having been the pastor at the Shoal Lake Baptist church for over 20 years when he retired in 1998.
George was born on November 21, 1931, on a farm north of Rivers, to his parents Abram and Aganetha Isaak, the youngest boy in a family of nine other brothers and sisters. He met his wife Joy Pratt while attending a Child Evangelism Fellowship school in Wisconsin and they began Christian ministry together after their marriage on June 3, 1961. They went on to pastor churches in Michigan, Alberta, and Manitoba. George was also a farmer and school bus driver and loved meeting people. He loved the outdoors too and was an avid deer hunter and fisherman.
George was predeceased by his wife Joy in 2021, his parents and 6 siblings. He is survived by 3 sisters, Mary Isaak, Tina Isaak, and Margaret (Earnest) Janzen, 5 children, David (Brenda) Isaak, Lynette (Dave) Murphy, Merlin (Glenda) Isaak, Crista (Marvin) Nagy, and Jennifer (Kent) Morgan, 12 grandchildren, and 20 great grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by his family and all those that loved and knew him. May he forever enjoy being in the presence of his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
