Irving Norman Nehring

Irving Norman Nehring passed away at the age of 81 with his loving wife by his side on Sunday, May 17, 2020 at the Minnedosa Health Center in Minnedosa, Manitoba.

Irving was born in Yorkton, Saskatchewan on April 28, 1939 to Leopold and Wilhelmine ‘Minnie’ (Schoerrath) Nehring.

Irv is survived by his wife of 56 years Eveline, his children Jackie (Murray) Simpson, Jerry (Joanne), grandson Will Simpson, step grandchildren Brett and Bradley (Robyn), 4 great step grandchildren and his sister Fran Jones.  He was predeceased by his parents and his brother Bruce Nehring.

Irv reveled in sharing stories with those who would listen about his 30 plus years with Manitoba Hydro.  In his younger years Irv volunteered throughout the community.  Irv enjoyed the outdoors and spent as much time as possible outside.  His many passions involved cutting trees, mowing lawns, his vegetable garden, socializing at the coffee shop and fishing at his favorite spot.  Irv was thrilled to share his harvest from his garden throughout the community.  After Irv retired he especially loved spending quality time with his Grandson in his woodshop building many projects together and their time shared at the fishing hole.

As per Irv’s wishes, a funeral service will not be held.

Irv will be laid to rest at the Erickson Municipal Cemetery in Erickson, on May 30, 2020.
