Janice Aldeen Norosky passed away on March 23, 2025, in Neepawa.
Janice was born April 9, 1951 in Neepawa, Manitoba. She was raised and spent most of her life in Newdale, Manitoba.
She attended Brandon University where she earned her Bachelor of Education. She taught special education in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and Alberta. Later, she changed careers and worked at Calgary City Hall for 14 years. After an early retirement she returned to Newdale in 1999, where she resided until health complications necessitated a move to Country Meadows care facility in Neepawa. She was well-cared for there and our heartfelt thanks go out to the staff.
We would also like to acknowledge the support and care that Janice’s forever BEST friend, Ann Mandziuk provided over these past years. They grew up together, Janice stood up at Ann’s wedding, and Ann was there to love her back in her final days.
Janice was known for her excellent memory, and right to the end was able to fill in details of her visitor’s lives that they themselves might not have recalled. Her heart was large and she received a special recognition award for donating blood over 100 times.
Janice was pre-deceased by her parents, Wilf and Lena (her forever advocate), her sister Sylvia Houghton and Sylvia’s husband Bruce, and her brothers Ivan and David.
Janice is survived by her sister Linda Norosky, brother Dennis Norosky and Denise, and sister-in-law Brenda Norosky, as well as numerous nieces and nephews: David and Christine Houghton and their children MacLeod, Tyler and Chase; Derek and Kerry Houghton and their children Meaghan, Alexandria and Adam; Meagan Norosky; Donald Norosky and Jubilee; Steven Dewar-Turcotte and Amy; and Marika Dewar-Norosky.
As per Janice’s wishes, there will be no service at this time. She will be interred in the Saint Peter and Saint Paul Cemetery in Newdale, next to her parents.
We will forever carry your memory in our hearts.
