It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of our dear Karen; wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
Karen (Dolly, Tootsie, Krystal) Ann Jawa (nee Krushelnisky) passed away on April 5th after a long, courageous battle fighting an illness that slowly robbed her of everything. She was surrounded by her loved ones as she took her last breath and was finally freed from a body that no longer worked for her.
Karen was a loving wife of 43 years to Nick. She was an adoring mother to Nicole (Lance Tremaine) and Patrick (Dana Yaremchuk). She was also a proud grandma to Benjamin (Tremaine) and Lincoln (Jawa). Karen was a cherished baby sister to Mavis, Wayne, Pat, Alice and Larry. Karen was predeceased by her parents Pete and Rose Krushelnisky.
We will always remember Karen for her love of artistic craft. Karen was so talented at anything she put her mind to, from oil painting to paper tole, cake decorating, ceramics and of course, floral design.
We have fond memories of a house always filled with music and frequent living room dance parties. Other nights were spent watching Bob Ross/ Bill Alexander or admiring her latest floral creation.
Karen loved being around people and helping them whenever she could. Weekend bonfires and lakeside fishing always brought a smile to her face. Most days you could find her in her garden or flower beds with her beloved dog Sydney by her side.
As we move forward please remember to live every day to the fullest, and when in doubt remember Karen's motto…. Why not!!
A celebration of life will be held at a future date.
If friends so desire, donations may be made to the Sandy Lake Care Home, in the hope that WiFi might soon be installed. At this time of social distancing, it is our family’s request, to support enhanced communication between residents and their loved ones.
