With deep sorrow we announce the passing of Kathleen Jean Geekie on December 2, 2025. She was predeceased by her father, Douglas Tedford and her mother Helen Tedford (Cairns). She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Nance and Kris Wujcik of Strathclair. Her brothers, Doug (Sandra) of Prince George and Bill (Glenys) of Winnipeg. Nieces and nephews, Jenn (Morgan) of Strasbourg, SK, Keith (Rebecca), Alanna (Brent) of Prince George, BC. And great nieces and nephews, Arden, Avalynn, Garen, Dallin, Sophie, Claire, Austyn, Ryley and Haisley. She will be greatly missed by life long friends, Penny Murray Head, Jenny Styrchak, and many other friends and family. Kathie was born in Winnipeg, May 19, 1947. She excelled in school, attended Assiniboine Elementary School and completed high school at St. James Collegiate. She was always top of her class and earned many awards. Following her father’s example of career and mother’s long connection with MB Pharmaceutical Association, Kath enrolled in the University of Manitoba, graduating from pharmacy in 1969, with the gold medal award. She started her career in Winnipeg and her work drew her farther west, Brandon, Strathclair and retired in Shoal Lake. Kath moved to Strathclair, where she made many great friends. She fell in love with the small town community. She made a life here for herself and Nance. She was very involved with many community groups and known for her generosity and willingness to help anyone in need (specializing in desserts). Kath loved arts and crafting, travel and especially her sports (starting with cheering for Gordie Howe). She enjoyed her time at the family cottage at Clear Lake. Especially growing up horseback riding. She had a fondness for all animals, with a special love for her cats. The family would like to thank the staff at Minnedosa Health Centre and Morley House, Shoal Lake, for their care and compassion for Kath.
