Kenneth (Ken) Wark Obituary

It is with deep sorrow we announce the passing of Kenneth Harry Wark on Monday, February 22, 2021.

Ken leaves behind those he loved and those who loved him…his loved and loving wife Donna Wark; his three children: Blair Wark (Janet), Wanda Kopytko (Jon), Kim St. Vincent (Roch) and stepson, Aaron Brager (Eileen Fowler); his grandchildren: Kenneth, Alex, Taylor, Jenna, Cory, Ryan and Jaclyn; his step grandchildren: Keianna, Kohl, Crosby and Gracelyn; his great grandchildren: Logan, Mackenzie, Jessie, Tyson and Tristan; his sisters: Olive and Joan (David); his nieces, nephews, and their children; his cousins; Ken’s dear friends from near and far within various communities; the Department of Natural Resources, the cattle industry, hydro and the many circles of aviation.

Ken is predeceased by his parents, Mac and Anna Wark, brother-in-law, Rob, nephew Jason, and his loved and loving wife, Shirley.

Ken will be remembered with joy as the fellow who loved to make people laugh; he was such a comedian. He loved gathering with family and friends and had the gift of making you always feel welcome.  Ken was a creative and captivating storyteller whether it be from his vast array of knowledge, intelligence and experience or from his comical and creative ability to parallel nature to humanity in which he often regaled his family with stories about.  Ken had a deep love for flying and his joy was found in the cockpit of an airplane, counting wolves and elk, on fire detection, or after dark trying to catch night lighters.  He lived for those moments.  Ken had a tenderness which extended towards the love of his cows, his dogs, digabees (cats) and wildlife.  Socialization was so very important, and his friends and family will miss the conversations, his love and care, he truly had a way of making everyone feel special, young and older alike.

Even the skies, where you had spent so much of your time, have gone grey and heavy today with the loss of you. I’ll miss the mischievous little grin you’d get right before you told a joke and the sweet one that would flash across your face the moment you made someone laugh.  What were once your eyes on the skies will now be ours as we search for you in the many kinds of clouds and jet trails, you’d always tell us so much about.

-Jaclyn St. Vincent-

Ken’s love will be felt as his family continues to gather and grow.  We love you very much Gumpa, Grandpa, Dad, Papa, Ken.
