Leonard Tony Sitko

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce Leonard Sitko has passed away at the Russell Health Center, September 3, 2025 at the age of 83. Leonard was born March 25, 1942 to the late Joseph and Margaret Sitko. Leonard is survived by his wife, Evelyn and his sons Jason and Ryan and wife Kendra. As well as the grandchildren, Jayden and Jordan, Riley and Evelynn, Logan and Jada. Brother-in-law, Ernie & Margo Peleshok, Sister-in-law Marlene Jones, Sister-in-law, Judy and husband Ben Baccus. Leonard was very proud of the fact that he has toured the Ottawa parliament buildings as a young PC member with the late MP member of Parliament Nick Manziuk at the time. Leonard was also very active in the community. He served on the board of the Oakburn credit union, Manitoba Pool Elevator. President of the Oakburn Game and Fish, Counsellor and Reeve of the RM of Rossburn and Board Chairman of Upper Assiniboine Conservation District. His passion for farming was throughout his entire life. He also enjoyed his sports. From playing way back with the Oakburn Orioles fastball team, officiating for the North Central Hockey League, to watching the Toronto Blue Jays or the Winnipeg Jets. As well as going for coffee in the morning into town to catch up on all the local gossip. You will greatly be missed. A candle may melt, and its Fire may die, but the love you have given us will always stay as a flame in our hearts
