On October 18th, 56 days after achieving her goal of celebrating 100 years of life Margaret Leitch passed away. She had a profound impact on her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren gifting them many memories of her big heart, her wisdom, her life experiences and unfiltered advice most others would not voice. She was born in Horod on August 23, 1922 and grew up at Stewart Lake. Margaret loved the outdoors and could never go fishing often enough. Some of her fondest memories were fishing trips with her family but she would gladly go with anyone who would take her. Everywhere Margaret lived she became an active member of her community making many lifelong friends while volunteering her time and showcasing her many talents. She took pleasure in entering her handiwork, vegetables and flowers in the local fair, and winning. In her later years she enjoyed playing cards and dominoes and winning. Margaret knew loss and sorrow as she was predeceased by her son Lawrence earlier this year, her daughter Joy in 2019, her son Gordon in 1998 and husband Arthur of 41 years in 1982. Despite these heartaches she chose to celebrate life and focused on the positive memories she shared with each person knowing that with a great love comes great sorrow. Margaret is survived by her daughter Shirley, son Ernest and grandchildren Bill (Eleanor), Mark (Sherry), Leslie (Jackie), Gwen (Dave), Judy (Rob), Ann (Leonard), Tracy (Joel), Kyla, Wayne, Tamara (Randy), in addition to great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. On October 18th the world itself didn’t change, but ours did. There is now a whole lot less in it.
