Ollie Lewandoski

Ollie (Olga) Lewandoski peacefully passed away on Sat. Dec. 3, 2022 at the age of 85 years old.  She was born on Oct. 20, 1937 and was the youngest of three daughters to Sam and Anne Ewashko of Rackham, MB.  Ollie walked the 3 miles each way to Rackham School up to Grade 10.  She went to Sandy Lake School for Grade 11.  After leaving school she took a Secretarial Course and worked in Winnipeg for a few years. 

Ollie married Lorrie Lewandoski on Oct. 17, 1964 and moved on to the farm north of Sandy Lake.  She kept very busy raising two sons, Wayne and Warren, growing a large garden, feeding the crews on the farm, preparing for Ukrainian Christmases and Easters and always having baking in the freezer.  She was also more than willing to help out with any functions going on in Sandy Lake and was a member of the Sandy Lake Ladies Legion Auxiliary.  Lorrie and Ollie moved off the farm in 2018 to Rotary Villa in Brandon.

Ollie was predeceased by her parents Sam (1967) and Anne (1989). 

Ollie leaves to mourn husband Lorrie, sons Wayne and Warren, sisters Zanny Ogibowski and Lena Marcischuk.  She also leaves grandchildren Mike and wife Nikki, Isabella and Max, and great grandchildren Liam and Olivia (Ollie), and many relatives on both sides of the family.

The funeral service will be held at the Sandy Lake Community Hall on Sat. Dec. 10, 2022 at 11 a.m., with Pastor Heather Parrott-Howdle officiating.   Viewing will be at 10 am.  The honor guard will be formed by the Sandy Lake Ladies Legion Auxiliary.  Pallbearers will be Mike Lewandoski, Luc Lewandoski, Josh Lewandoski, Brandyn Sparks, Isabella Krowelski and Max Krowelski.
