Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our father, Orville Anderson at the age of 77.  Orville was born on July 24, 1944 and passed on March 16, 2023.  He leaves to mourn, his sons Duane (granddaughters Jade and Jasmine) and Sheldon (Amy and grandson Tallon and granddaughter Katiya), sister’s Dianne (Bill) McLaughlin, Bev (David) Cochrane, step children Vince, Dean and Shelley, and many beloved nephews and nieces and friends.

Orville was predeceased by his wife Marilyn, parents Andy and Rachel, his twin brother Eldon (at age four months), Gordon Anderson, Norma Osbak, Joan Mitchell, brothers-in-law, Fred Mitchell and Richard McLaughlin, sister-in-law Carolyn Anderson, and nephews Gerald Anderson, Kurtis Cochrane, Raymond Mitchell, Ronnie Osbak, and Val Osbak.

Orville worked seasonally at Manitoba Highways and Transportation and commercial fished in the winter months.  He enjoyed the outdoors and spent many hours gardening, hunting, fishing, and working on side projects and crafts.  Orville had a passion for music playing the rhythm guitar, enjoyed wildlife, was proud of his two dogs, and will be fondly remembered for his sense of humour and wit.  He will be missed by many.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Neepawa Health Centre and Birtle Health Centre for their care and compassion during dad’s final year and to Derek and Barb Anderson for helping out along the way.
