Ronald Thomas Shaw died peacefully at the Hamiota Hospital surrounded by family on August 25, 2022.
Ron was born in Birtle MB, May 23, 1935, the second child of Leslie & Edith (Newsham). He was raised on the farm that he then lived on and farmed most of his life. Dad spent a few years going to school in both Winnipeg and Brandon after graduating from high school in Solsgirth. During that time, he met and married, Mom, Joyce Anne Firby in May of 1961. Brian was born in Brandon in 1963. They moved back to the farm in the spring of 1964. Soon after David arrived, followed by Gwendolyn, and Charles. Mom and Dad were blessed with 61 years of marriage. They enjoyed many travels from BC to Nova Scotia, and as far south to Florida, plus many miles logged on their little motorhome.
Dad was predeceased by his parents Leslie & Edith Shaw, brother Arthur Shaw, In-laws Ronald and Evelyn Firby, brother-in-law Luc Gamache, sister-in-law Mavis Shaw, and nephew Eric Shaw.
He is survived by his loving wife Joyce, children Brian (Anne), David (Karen), Gwen (Wayne) Ginter, and Charles (Deanna), grandchildren Nick Ward, Katy (Bryan) Sweetwood, Patrick Shaw, Chad Shaw, Kim (Caleb) Koloski, Nicole Shaw, Amanda (Tyler) Stewart, Julia Ginter, David Ginter, Thomas Shaw, Matthew Shaw, Emily Shaw, great grandchildren Alexander Sweetwood and Lilah Stewart, brother George (Margaret) Shaw, and sister Marjorie (David) Green and many nieces, nephews and other extended family.
A Special thanks to the wonderful staff at the Hamiota hospital who treated dad with the utmost respect and compassion in his final days.
