Peacefully, on March 21, 2026, Roxanne (Roxie) Warniski passed away at the Victoria General Hospital, surrounded by family, at the age of 89.
Roxanne was born on March 8, 1937, in the Shoal Lake district to John C. Yanyk and Anne Woychyshyn. She was predeceased by her parents, numerous brothers and sisters and her husband, William (Bill) Warniski. She will be lovingly remembered by her children: Ted (Margaret), Michael, William Jr. (Lara), and Laurie (Garrett); her grandchildren: Ryan, Colin, Amber, Gavin, and Branden. She is also survived by her siblings Joseph (Edmonton), Eugene (Oakburn), and Diane Novak (Toronto) and sister-in-law, Marilyn Yanick (Okotoks), as well as many nieces and nephews.
Roxanne was deeply devoted to her faith and family. Although attending church became more difficult in the latter years, her faith remained a central part of her daily life. She found great joy in sharing her cooking with others, especially during family gatherings and holidays, and was well known for her baking, perogies, and cabbage rolls. Roxanne lived independently until the end of her life. She loved gardening, watching her favorite sports teams play, doing word puzzles and watching her favorite game shows.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff of Urgent Care and the 5th Floor at Victoria General Hospital for their compassionate care.
