Tony Kryshewski Obituary

Mr. Tony Kryshewski, son of Michael and Annie (nee Chegus) Kryshewski was born on January 17, 1935 in the Hamlet of Marconi, RM of Rossburn Manitoba. He attended Marconi School and enjoyed sharing his fond memories of his school years.  A routine Sunday outing would involve a drive to the Marconi School site with a picnic lunch and an afternoon of entertaining stories. Tony was a farmer in the RM of Rossburn and drove school bus for 30 years until his retirement. He lived life to the fullest with simple pleasures. He was never too busy to have fun and share that fun with those around him. His harmonica was always in his pocket for a quick tune, he loved to dance, play cards and always had time for a campfire. He will be remembered for “Living Young as Long as Possible”.

Tony’s family was very important in his life.  He married Cecelia Kokorudz in 1959 and they had 4 children. Mary-Anne (Bob) Ploshynsky, Larry (Kelly) Kryshewski, Gayle (Terraus) Kowaluk, Jennifer (Brad) Ferguson. He had 7 grandchildren- Bailee, Zach and Jake Ploshynsky, Kelcey, Emery (Rae-Ann) Kryshewski, Tyler (Bailey) Kowaluk, Misty (Braden) Drul; 3 great grandchildren- Brandt, Lydia and Adilynn. His sister Lena Rattray, sister in law Marion Kreshewski, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Tony quietly departed from this life on Thursday April 9, 2020 at the Sandy Lake Personal Care Home. We smile knowing that Dad has continued his journey and is with his family that preceded him: His parents Michael and Annie, his brothers William, Sam and sister in law Emily, Dick, Pete and sister in law Wilma, and his nephews Blaine Kreshewski and Wayne Kreshewski.

Tony’s life was celebrated with his immediate family at a graveside service on Monday April 13, 2020, at St. Michael’s Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery, Olha Manitoba. Father Mykhaylo Khomitskyy officiated the heartfelt service. Nature comforted us that morning with the soothing song of geese, and the gentle touch of snowflakes.

For those who could not attend Dad’s funeral service we share this poem to bring you comfort.

To Those I Love and Those Who Love Me

When I am gone, release me. Let me go I have so many things to see and do. You mustn't tie yourself to me with tears. Be happy, we had so many years.

I gave you my love and you can only guess how much you gave to me in happiness. I thank you for the love you each have shown. But now it's time I traveled alone.

So grieve a while for me if grieve you must. Then let your grief be comforted by trust. It's only for a while that we must part So bless those memories in your heart.

I won't be far away for life goes on. So if you need me, call and I will come. Though you can't see or touch me, I'll be near with all my love around you soft and clear.

And then, when you must come this way alone, I'll greet you with a smile and "Welcome You Home".
