William "Bill" John Samels

With heavy hearts the family announces the passing of William John Samels, known as Bill, of Ditch Lake, Erickson, Manitoba.  Bill, aged 76 years, passed away at Brandon Regional Centre March 27, 2022, peacefully with his loving wife Lorry and his children, Gail, Shawn, and Michelle by his side.

Bill was born July 27, 1945 in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba.  Bill had a love for the outdoors.  He enjoyed biking, cross-country skiing, canoeing, hunting, trapping, fishing, camping, tennis, and walking.  Bill was a great sales rep.; he could sell anything.

He enjoyed travelling to multiple small communities, meeting, and building relationships with everyone he met.

Bill was predeceased by his parents John and Mary Samels, parents-in-law Marcel and Mervena Harrison, brother Jerry Samels who Bill was very close to and missed him dearly.

Bill had special relationships wit his sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Precious memories of Bill will be cherished by his loving wife Lorry children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.  Gail (Trevor) Birch, Richelle (John), Dylan.  Shawn (Alanna) Samels, Aly and Avery.  Michelle Sens, Brittany (Kelsey) Adley, Maverick Jordan (Savannah), Austin (Emma).

After retiring his favourite times were spent with his family at Ditch Lake and visiting his children at their family homes.

He will be truly missed by his loving wife Lorry, his family and friends.  Bill will be remembered for his humour and quick come backs, and a loving personality.  As per Bill’s wishes there will be no service.
