William (Willie) Jacob Voth

William Jacob Voth of Strathclair passed away December 30TH, 2020 at Minnedosa Hospital at the age of 64 years.

Willie was born on June 12, 1956, the tenth and last child to Abe and Mary Voth in Winnipeg, Manitoba. They resided on the family farm south of Boissevain in the Turtle Mountains. Then in 1960, the family moved ten miles north of Boissevain to a new farm.

On April 13, 1973 he met the love of his life, Lori Farmer. They were married on September 10, 1977. Their first child Becky Elizabeth sadly passed thirteen hours after birth on June 24, 1980. They had two more children, Daniel William (1980), and Carlea Ann (1984).

Over the years, Willie worked for Cargill in Sydney, Manitoba and Newdale, Manitoba; then Shurgro and Miller Farm Equipment in Shoal Lake. In 2013, Willie began work with Bridgeview Manufacturing. He thoroughly enjoyed his years here as well with Miller farm equipment.

In 2007, their daughter married Tom Wootton and in 2011, Dan married Beccy Ardiel. In 2008, he and Lori became grandparents and again in 2011 and 2014.

Willie and Lori spent many years involved in the Strathclair Drama Club, as well as many years of camping and travelling south. As well as a trip over seas to the U.K.

Willie was diagnosed with stage 4 stomach cancer in August 2019. He put up a good fight but succumbed to the illness on December 30TH, 2020.

Willie was predeceased by his daughter, Becky Elizabeth; parents: Abe and Mary Voth, brother Rudy, sister, Marlene and in-laws William and Frances farmer.

Surviving are his wife Lori Voth; son Dan (Beccy) Voth; daughter, Carlea (Tom) Wootton; and  3 grandchildren.  Also surviving are 4 brothers: John (Esther) Voth, Henry Voth, Edward (Sandi) Voth and George (Irene) Voth; 3 sisters: Elizabeth (Don) Kuhl, Edith (Dave) Hammond and Hedy (Ed) Albrecht.
